A change of scenery - from critical care to the café or the garden

Critical illness can be isolating and disorienting and often, professionals working in these environments are very keen to move patients off the unit for a short time, to offer a change of scenery. However, it can be difficult with the amount of equipment needed, staffing and space issues, to actually make this happen.

Over the years, it has been our honour to be able to assist critical care professionals in turning this dream into a reality for their patients, by building our critical care chairs into compact platforms for care, with safe support for different attachments and equipment, all fully mobile.

In this short video, you can see a recent example, where our Mobilise CH5 chair has been used in a critical care garden, and it also shows how easily the chair moves from ward to ward.

Here are some more examples from the internet where you can see our Mobilise chairs in action, giving long term patients some respite from critical care and the ICU.

A BBC news article from May '20, where the Sertain chair is used for laterally transferring a patient from bed to chair, and then for onward mobile transport.

A recent post showing a chair prepared for another hospital with ventilator attached.

An early example of an older Sertain chair being used to give a patient some freedom from ITU.
